How to Secure a Rope Swing Without Climbing a Tree

Choose a branch to swing from were you will not bump into the trunk of the tree or other trees and were the branch will not brake of when you add weight to it.

Throw or shoot with a sling shot a rock with a thin but strong cord attached to it. The rock should be heavy enough to pull the cord over your chosen branch. Be very carefully not to have the rock come back and hit you. Do not pull the rock back over the branch as it will head straight towards you.

Tie the end of your rope into a secure loop or double your rope in half if it is long enough to reach the ground. Untie the rock from your cord that is over the branch and tie on the loop or double end of your rope. Pull down on the other end of your cord and this will lift your rope up and over your branch. Thread the end of your cord through the loop in your rope and pull the rope through the loop. This will cause the loop to be lifted up to the branch and secure your swing. Always test your swing to make sure it is secure never swing higher then you are prepared to fall.
